Community Rides: 2018 Schedule

This is the compilation webpage for updates on the status of each and every Community Ride in the 2018 series, e.g. registration links, cancellation notices, GPS data, and special details which pertain uniquely to a Ride.

SAFETY GUIDELINES:  A Safety talk is given before each Ride, but it is a good idea to review the Safety Guidelines for Community Rides (posted in sidebar) prior to attending each Ride.

BASIC INFORMATION for Community Riders includes Registration and Cancellation policies applying to all Rides.

PORT CREDIT Waterfront Trail Family Ride

NOTE:  You’re invited to the first Bike Fest of the year!  This family-friendly cycling event is perfect for kids and new riders of all ages.  Starting at 10:00 am there will be fun activities and giveaways, with a CanBike instructor to help you learn how to ride safely and feel more confident on your bike.  A mechanic will also be on site to give quick tune-ups and get your bike running smoothly.  The morning activities will be followed by a 5 km ride where participants can explore the Port Credit waterfront by bike and test out their newly acquired cycling skills.  Kids aged 7+ years old can ride their own bike on the 5km ride.  All minors on the ride must be accompanied by a registered parent/guardian on a bike.

NOTES:  Participants may come early to watch and cheer those participating in the Ontario 55+ Summer Games.  The community ride will then use the closed-off Lake Aquitaine Course for part of the route.

Parking will NOT be available at the Community Centre. Participants are encouraged to arrive by bike, public transit, or be prepared to park away from the event and bike in.
