Cycling Field Trip in Mississauga

On the Mississauga cycling committee field trips, we set out on as small groups on our bicycles to evaluate specific portions of the city’s cycling network. You are invited to join us on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 7:00pm at Burnhamthorpe and Confederation. Come cycle with us and be an active part in improving cycling in the city, get to know some of the committee members and discover new areas to cycle.

Meet on the Burnhamthorpe Trail at Confederation Parkway

We recommend that you come with a helmut and your bicycle be equipped with lights and reflectors to ensure a safer trip back to your starting point.

Objectives

  1. Identify suitable cycling routes into the City Centre Area to publicize for use on Canada Day.  Ideally, one each from the north, the south, the east and west.  Identify any missing connections along these routes.
  2. Ride the Cooksville Creek Trail from Burnhamthorpe southwards to the North Service Road with the view of documenting trail issues and missing connections.  Examine the connections to the new bike lanes on Mississauga Valley Blvd.

Please RSVP with our Trail Coordinator using the form (below) so that we will have an idea of how many people to expect. We may need to limit the number of participants for manageability so get your name in early!
