Thank you for the heads-up on the Tour de Mississauga PDF not allowing anyone to copy and paste from it. It has been resolved. We understand the frustration of not being able to get out on your bicycle due to needless technical difficulties. You should now be able to copy it to wherever you like. Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Wonderful to have a PDF file format available
It will be of interest to those considering where to purchase a property in Mississauga; and especially to those living in Erin Mills at Eagle Ridge that enjoy their almost private access to the walking / cycling paths.

Ummm Sappho I think there might be a problem with your cell phone and not the directions. Because I was able to save the entire tour on my computer and print it out easily. Also it is a PDF and some cell phones don’t know how to handle those files. These files are pretty public and I haven’t seen it ask for a password at all. I’m from Toronto and find that they are making some strides to a better cycling city so it’s definitely worth a visit with or without the tour directions.

Would have loved to do the Tour de Mississauga and spend my dollars at the local stores BUT when I went to copy the text directions to my cell I could not as the map is password protected – guess I will go to another city who wants to share their map, wants my dollars and cycle there!

Just one more nail in the coffin for Mississauga.

Keep your maps – Don’t share them – I will cycle somewhere else.

Hello Glen,
There are currently no permanent signs specifically pointing out the Tour de Mississauga route. There are, however, general signs and markings for the on-road and off-road Mississauga bike path/trail system that the Tour took advantage of. There are some points of the route that don’t travel on designated bike lanes. This is why we have made both the map and written directions available for download.
Mississauga Cycling agrees that proper signage and wayfinding is necessary in any bike-friendly region. We are in exciting times with the Cycling Master Plan being brought to the Council and public this summer. Indeed that should include specifications on excellence in wayfinding.
The Tour will take a different route each year through the city’s roads and and ever growing biking lanes and trails.

For now, you can download the PDF file from this page(Adobe Acrobat is required to view it). The direct link to download is http://www.mississaugacycling.ca/wp-content/uploads/2008__miss_trails_map.pdf

If you are looking for the printed map in pamphlet form, I believe the new version will be out later this winter. I will have to check on what date they will be ready.

Mississauga City Hall will have them available in their lobby on a pamphlet display. I’ll check to see what other places will carry them.
